TDI was founded in October 2009 to equip and support local churches in addressing community challenges in health, food security, poverty, leadership, youth and child development, education, and spiritual transformation in Chitipa district.

Tubepoka Development Initiative(TDI) is a local Christian NGO that works by partnering with networks of local and global churches and other institutions committed to working together in improving the quality of life in targeted communities in Malawi.

Our Life-Changing Services Empowering Communities
For the period under review, the following projects were implemented.
Early Childhood Development (Mwenje African Church)
TDI directly supports 4 Church-Based Child Development Centers in Chitipa and indirectly works with 45 others, providing essential services to 1,900 children.
Hygiene and Sanitation Improvement Project
Improved knowledge, attitude, behavior and practices on health and hygiene among communities in Nthalire and Kameme Health Centre catchment areas..
Food Security and Livelihood Support Project
With Mk 6.3-million-kwacha funding from Willow Creek Church, this project targeted to train 178 households in production of Mbeya fertilizer for increased crop production.
Savings Ministry Project(SGM)- HOPE funded
The goal of TDI savings group ministry is to provide transformational Christian witness and improve income diversification amongst people living in poverty in targeted communities.
ABCD mentoring and Coaching
TDI continue to engage Networks of churches and community leaders to work together in ending poverty and injustice so that the quality of life is raised in all its fullness in their communities in Chitipa district.
TDI Banana IGA project
The project started in March 2023 as one of the initiative to help TDI generate extra revenue. The project is still in its development stage. There has been steady growth of bananas since the installation of the drip irrigation system.
